My dad served as a Medic in the 114th, 44th Division, Medical Detachment. Entered service from Knoxsville Arkansas. He was a T/5. He was wounded in battle on 04DEC44 in Volksberg, France. He was awarded the DSC and the Purple Heart. Dad died in 1972 and I have always wanted to know more if possible about his service and that of his Medical Detachment. Like so many others dads, the memory and dicussion of the ETO was not talked about much while I was growing up. That time was a time to be honored, but not discussed because of all the horror "the greatest generation" went through. Any info would be appreciated...........
