I put small toys in gift bags. The child asks "What is it?", "What is in the bag", "Who is it?, "Who gets that one?" depending on the theme for the day/month. When they remove the item, they say "I get a ____". You could extend this by having the child 'give' the item to another child "He/She/They get(s) this" or put in a pile near a boy/girl/children doll(s) or picture representing each of them.
