What is the subject in social studies? You can do lots of language activities -- compare/contrast, describing, putting events in order, writing a Cinquan (?) poem (focuses on parts of speech), grouping words by semantics, using two target words in a sentence, definition Bingo (identifying words by clues), writing letters to historical figures or writing newspaper accounts of historical events, writing and/or acting out a play about the period.
