This may be too late for this year. I have Grades 3-5. As a" get to know you" activity and as a way for me to evaluate my new students, I had students fill-out a questionaire about themselves. I used such questions such as "What is your favorite book, color, food, etc. What do you want to be when you grow-up? Do you have pets? etc. " After filling out the sheet, I had the students cut it apart by questions and put in a paper bag, basket, etc. Then each one took turns drawing out a question, reading it to the group and trying to guess who wrote it. My kids enjoyed this and really got in to trying to guess who wrote it. I even participated too. This served as a great "ice-breaker" and a way to get an idea about their speech-language problems.
