I like students to set up a goal of their own to work on during the year. Although I wuold like it to revolve around speech, I don't require it. It is a great language activity to talk about the word "goal" and we then look at what steps it would take to accomplish the goal. I also work with themes, so in September we talk about apples. We do various projects, activites, etc. that all deal with apples. Themes keep therapy exciting and new for the students and for me...I love thinking of new theme ideas and look forward to some of my favorite activites as well!
