Children's literature is a great tool to use for this. For example, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Bill Martin is great for animals, colors, sequencing, etc. I recently used "The Mitten" by Jan Brett when doing a unit on winter. I have found great materials for books using the internet also.
