Thanks! Those were all great ideas I'll definitely try. I just really think it helps the little ones to stay involved with some gross motor incorporated. It is always good to get new ideas from others!
I've been doing things such as musical chairs kinds of games with vocab or artic pictures on the ground. Everyone has to name the picture they are on when the music stops. If they don't know it, they're out and get to help me control the music.
I've also tried hiding little pictures of fires around the room during our community workers/fireman unit. I let the kids take a water bottle and see who can find the most fires. You can incoporate lots of goals w/this activity...saying a phrase with artic sound when they find a fire or telling "where" the fire was (Under the trashcan, on the table, etc).
