He probably needs jumping, but needs to jump in appropriate places. Examples would be a mini-trampoline, or a large trampoline, sitting on a bouncy ball, or a safe place to jump. Use visuals to allow jumping as an activity and post no-jumping visuals (jumping with a red x through it) so he knows when he can jump. He needs to be rewarded (praise or other reinforcers) for the times when he jumps in the safe places. He needs immediate distraction and movement to a safe place when he starts to jump near the fan. The social story will help with when and where to jump safely.
