Hi! I have been working with a 3 year old who is verrrry independent. I have gotten him to spontaneously produce CV/VC sequences and he also uses some 2 word phrases and everyday words. However, his speech is very limited and he communicates primarily through gestures and grunts. When I attempt to make him communicate for a desired item he will either get very upset and shutdown or just play with something else. He has made progress, but I feel like he's stuck right now. It appears as if he is not speaking because he doesn't feel the need. When he does, he uses his words; however, he only speaks when he absolutely has to and says the same words. Any ideas to help get this little guy talking more???
