That newspaper can be adapted for conversation about current events and has online games and other activities as part of the add-on, Joey's Locker. It can be fun to have a social group that discusses issues of the day, appropriate to the age of the students. Topics could include discussing movies, books, music groups, etc. You can also pose intriguing questions, such as found in the book THINK ON YOUR FEET -- "what would you change if you were in charge of the school?" for instance. I hope these ideas are helpful. Would love to hear suggestions from others, too!

The Mystery Games from Print 'n Play (Mayer-Johnson) could easily be programmed into devices to provide practice in asking and answering questions using thematic vocabulary.
