I am often asked by parents to recommend books for their kids-some newer to chess and others active in competitive chess. That can be a daunting task with hundreds to choose from.
Many teachers will have their favorites of course-I have many. But for years I have been very impressed by Jeff Coakley's series of books which are suitable for beginners up to advanced players.
The titles are:Winning Chess Strategy for Kids,Winning Chess Puzzles for Kids and Winning Chess Exercises for Kids.I understand that an end-game book is in the works.
They are very instructive and great fun to go through and I recommend them highly!
