Just a couple of points:
1) Google "Robert Snyder". My personal view is that no one should buy his books, nor should CMA sell them.
2) De La Maza's book is all hype and little substance. Of course doing thousands of tactical problem is going to improve your game. So will doing hundreds of endgame positions or carefully playing through dozens of well-annotated games.

No need to buy de la Maza's book for that. I tend to agree with Jeremy Silman's review (found on his site) about this book.
