Glad to see everyone is awake
This year, thanks to an excellent suggestion last year by Valer Demian from B.C., at the provincial coordinator meeting, we are using a new scoring system. Winning the match against another province takes priority over the actual score. So if a province beats another province by the score of 6.5 - 5.5 or if they win by the score of 12 - 0, the result is that the winning province gets 1 match point. So priority number one this year will be to win the match, regardless of the score. Only if there is a tie in match points will we look at the number of points a province earns to break the tie.
In theory, we could have Quebec and Ontario going into the last round with the same number of match points...and everything will hang on that last round match between the two...now that is exciting
.
We also forced the last round pairings for the other provinces so that potentially that last round will determine in which place they finish.
So yes, last round pairings this year were based on how each province finished last year. The rest of the rounds are random. Our intention was to make the event exciting right to the end for everyone. Hope it works
Larry
