Posted by Dave Kenady/Pat/Anthony Savini on 12/28/2001, 11:18 am Posted by Dave Kenady on 10/28/2001, 6:40 pm I'm one for everyone having their say, especially if one truly had attended the Chapel, but David seemed to be determined to find where the limit was. Krystal the witch was the limit. I am VERY slow to act as far as blocking someone from the board. And I was taking a considerable amount of heat for DZ's posts. I hope this will prove to be the right decision. Posted by Steve B. on 10/29/2001, 8:06 am , in reply to "DZ has been blocked" I have mixed feelings about this. It's probably best in the long run. These kind of things inevitably come up on Internet bulletin boards, and it's always difficult to know what to do. Sincerely, Steve Born Posted by Harry on 11/3/2001, 2:41 pm , in reply to "DZ has been blocked" I for one say THANKS!!!!! ---------- Posted by Robin A. on 11/13/2001, 8:38 pm , in reply to "Re: DZ has been blocked" Thank you for blocking DZ. His posts were a major reason why I stopped reading and conversing on this messge board. I didn't think he belonged here. I'm glad I didn't have to be the one to make the decision. Dave, I appreciate your providing this forum, and for being as inclusive as you could possibly be. I wouldn't have been as patient as you have been. I hope his not being on here works for good in his life. ____________________ Posted by Pat on 10/28/2001, 7:01 pm Apply Now! further Posted by lanny on 10/19/2001, 2:01 pm, in reply to "Re: short answer" If one does not accept the Bible as the final authority in these matters, then one is worshipping, serving a god of his own imagination. This is simple idolatry. In the OT one cast precious metals into an image of his own creation and then "worshipped" it. Today men pick and choose what they want to believe out of the Bible and then form their own man-made theology and godhead. That is modern day idolatry. i.e. man made gods... It is either ALL correct and inspired or we are left to "every man doing what is right in his own eyes." That statement is repeated several times during one of the darkest times in Israel's history. If God didn't say it, inspire it, or breath it then who did? And who is to decide? This argument has been around for centuries. Is my understanding superior to countless Bible believing scholars who have affirmed the inspiration of the Bible ever since the 1st century? Any person who by his own admission is not sure, seldom happy and in general searching for answers to many questions would do well to ash-can his current beliefs FOR THEY ARE NOT WORKING!!!!! It is time to become a student and not a teacher. Need I say more? lanny DZ, what do you hope to gain by posting on this board?>" You said your education was to blame for your problems, I suggest you read lanny's post and consider "Ash canning your beliefs" and starting over.your foundation, and World view is based upon faulty reasoning amd flawed logic. As to your Character and Integrity, only God knows the true thoughts and intents of the heart. DZ, Become a student of the Word, fall on the "Rock" or the Rock will fall on you and crush you to powder! You may in fact find some comfort knowing that Iam not without my own sins, and problems this board has been an oasis finding wisdom and understanding with my brothers and sisters seeking the same, Iam willing to fight against any and all that would impede that and bring shame and dishonor to this board! I think i have been clear, as to responding to your questions and statements that will henge on your responses and how others may judge my words. I am open to correction, and instruction in righteousness. Pat ____________________ Posted by Anthony W. Savini on 10/29/2001, 11:41 am When manwas given life, God breathed into the figure. This action is only mentioned in the creation of man so many assume that it this special action that makes us different from any other life. We contain the breath (spirit?) of God. Throughout the Bible there are God sanctioned killings. There are also times where God directly causes the death of a person. It is clear that after our bodies have expired there is a portion of our identities that lives on sometimes its called soul sometimes its called spirit. Nowhere that I can see in the Bible does God ever cause any spirit to expire. Certainly God has power to affect spirits, but this final act seems not be something God can/will do. Eternity is before all of us and there are two destinations where we can choose to spend it. I understand that spirit is unique to humans, according to the bible. Finally my question: Is God reluctant to destroy a spirit or is it impossible for God to do this? ---------- Posted by Keith on 10/31/2001, 8:31 pm , in reply to "A serious question about something." When I first read this I thought that's the kind of question that makes my brain hurt. Since I first read it I've thought about it a few times, I of course don't have a definite answer but my thought is leaning to the idea that it is impossible for God to destroy a spirit. He is infinite and knows all things and is love, perhaps it is beyond Him to annihilate a living soul (or spirit) that He created or brought about through pro-creation. This of course is the downside of creating man with a free will, that free will could go in the wrong direction away from Him. Wow I think I am having one of those wonderful revelations, although I don't know that I would call it wonderful. ---------- Posted by JR on 11/1/2001, 6:37 am , in reply to "A serious question about something." The Bible says that when Yahweh breathed his Ruach (breath, spirit, life) into Adam, he became a living soul. Death came through Adam, because he was a living soul, but life came through Yahshua, who was made a life giving spirit. Yahshua said that God has the power to destroy the soul. This is death. ---------- Soul = Spirit; Spirit -> Soul Posted by Anthony W. Savini on 11/5/2001, 12:19 pm , in reply to "Re: A serious question about something." I'm not trying to build a doctrine here or even expect a difinitive answer because we don't know ... Yet. Don Barnett taught that there is body, spirit, soul. Anything alive and has the capacity of thought has a soul (no I don't know the threshold). Only man has a soul AND spirit because God can only be worshipped in spirit. I have no doubt that God routinely dissolves, annihilates, destroys souls. But the question is about spirit. To try to imagine god actually breathing is to limit God by surrounding Him with "Air". (therefore God could not be infinite). I think when God "breathed" life into man it was not literally God performing CPR on a piece of clay. This kind of goes back to the proof for God's existence that I think was St. Anselm's: Try to imagine something greater than infinite - you can't - therefore God exists! Or something like that. God is spirit, we all know that. The word ruach can be translated as spirit. What I think God did was impart a part of himself to each human. Since creation is "inside" of God there is no loss to God in imparting spirit to us. Perhaps this is the reason that God cannot destroy spirit. This won't stop Him from walling off (like a cyst)the spirits that have been made dirty through sin, maybe He can/has withdrawn His spirit from those who went too far into sin. Well this is all conjecture much like "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin" Answer: as many as God wants! ____________________ Posted by Dave Kenady on 11/3/2001, 7:41 am I added 3 photos to the Photos Page at the bottom. I'll let you know when and if it happens. Why We Baptize in Jesus Name, another four-part series by "an elder, tall person". Does anyone have these tapes? ---------- Posted by Keith on 11/4/2001, 7:11 pm , in reply to "Request for TAPES" I used to have the Creation Vs Evolution tapes but I leant them to someone and never got them back. In fact at the time they made the rounds where I worked to about 6 different people. That is a real good series and probably still primarily up to date. I do have about 3 other misc sermons by Mike Sabourin that dealt with that subject. ---------- I have them Posted by Harry on 11/4/2001, 8:57 pm , in reply to "Request for TAPES" Dave, for what it is worth. I have an original set of the of the Evolution Refutation - can't remember if there are four tapes or not. I'll take a look.

A serious question about something
So instead of just poofing satan and his buddies to non-existance we have to continue to be subject to his (satan's) machinations.
Even the Lake of Fire is a place God created.
When a man is raised, he will be raised in Yahshua's image, and therefore be spirit.
Maybe this is incorrect now but...
