Posted by Author Unknown on 11/10/2001, 6:38 pm I'm About to Get a New Life Life has always been very difficult for me: one problem I have had since birth is asthma. Then at age thirty I got industrial asthma from a chemical accident while working for a sheet metal fabricator. This changed my life dramatically. Sending me into a world of hives, chemical sensitivity, and breathing problems that not even a dog should suffer. Over the last year things have got so bad that I often wonder when I go to bed at night if I will still be alive the next morning? Problems breathing at night have gotten to the point where I cannot work well and I cannot think well. All of my goals in life are on hold. From Church attendance to restoring an old car etc. Right now I am just trying to survive. Eight months ago I went to the hospital and explained to the doctors that I could not breathe at night. I told them that I have not had a nights sleep in years. I told them that this problem is a factor in my diabetes and also my weight gain. They took immediate action. Eight months later I was to stay over at the hospital for a sleep study. Last Friday I spent the night in Swedish hospital. Carol strapped and glued over twenty monitors on me and the lights were turned out. I just got the results back Thursday. Throughout the night I was found in a light-sleep state wakening and gasping for breath 119 times an hour for seven hours. This sleep state is so slight that I could see and hear what was going on around me. I have among the worst cases of sleep apnea that the center has seen. This will soon change. I am going back to Swedish Hospital on Monday and sleep over one more time. However a machine will help with my breathing this time. One of the doctors told me that this will help my condition by 90% and I will get the sleep of my life. Even though my health insurance has declined to pay for the machine, so far. I will have my hands on a new top of the line BiPap duet in about ten to twenty days. More credit is given when more credit is needed. I have high hopes of living a more abundant life. ---------- Posted by Steve B. on 10/13/2001, 7:27 am , in reply to "Author Unknown is not Dead." AU, Thanks for sharing this with us. Let's hear it for health insurance, eh? ---------- Hello Dave! Posted by Pat on 10/13/2001, 8:12 am , in reply to "Re: Author Unknown is not Dead." Hi Dave, Just want to thank you for all your hard work keeping this messg board up and running, I went back in the Archive files last night reading posts from various people "WHAT A BLESSING!" Many of the Q's I had after and during the break-up of cc have been adressed and talked about I was very nieve to many things in 88. I had just grad from H.S in 86 so for me I was still in my first year of BIBLE College! My head was in the books trying to Digest Lanny's logic class and R.M classes not an easy task as many know...:) SOOO hey just Thanks this Messg Board has brought out many things that have layed dormet for many years it's good to have closer and healing that I can press into new things that God would have for me. In Christ, Pat ---------- Hello Pat Posted by Dave Kenady on 10/13/2001, 10:53 am , in reply to "Hello Dave!" I've very glad to hear that you have been helped here. I'm just trying to be a beacon for information and communication about our former church. We've been a bit off topic lately, but hopefully things will swing back around. ---------- Posted by Eric H. on 10/13/2001, 7:17 pm , in reply to "Author Unknown is not Dead." May Yahweh's peace and strength continue to sustain you AU. Here is hoping for your healing and restoration! Eric Re: Thank you All—One More Night Posted by Author Unknown on 10/16/2001, 5:51 am , in reply to "Re: Author Unknown is not Dead." My heart was touched by your concern for me. It took my body some time to get use to breathing with this machine, however the results were fantastic. My o2 was up over 20%, it was in the normal range of 91 plus as opposed to 70%. Also at the end of the night I got some deep sleep, I havent seen the results yet, but I know I got about one and 1/2 hours of pure sleep at the end of the study, with up to 5 hours of mid grade sleep throughout the night. One of the reasons I did not do Great all through the night is because the tech in the next room is constantly fine tuning the machine to get the best results. At first I was fighting for air, towards the end breathing was natural. Ken did his job very well. We have all the information to go ahead with the next step and get a BiPap so I can sleep at home. I am now on my way back. Heaven can wait for Eh You, I meant A.U.

----------
His problem was connected to a severe case of snoring and the Doctors are looking at surgery to fix his nasal passages to enable him to breath normally without the machine. I'm looking at doing some reasearch on the net in regards to this, I have known or heard of many others that suffer from this. Is the Swedish Hospital Specializing with this?
----------
And I have very good news. I sleep last night at the hospital one more time this time hooked up to a BiPap machine.
