Posted by Gordy/J Geertz/AU/JR/TA Young on 11/7/2001, 7:47 am Kabul, Afghanistan--October 9, 2001--At a press conference today, ruling members of the Taliban announced their plans to retaliate against the United States "terrorist" bombings. Immigration Czar, Mohammed Ali Iamapuke said that, effective immediately, Afghanistan will cut off the US supply of convenience store managers. ---------- Posted by JR on 10/9/2001, 10:06 pm , in reply to "Afghan's retalliation threatened........Just in" And if that don't do the job, they will also cut off the US supply of cab drivers :) ---------- That reminds me of the time... Posted by Anthony W. Savini on 10/10/2001, 11:28 am , in reply to "Re: Afghan's retalliation threatened........Just in" I was in New York back in July (Dad died) and I spent 4 hours in a cab driven by a gentleman muslim. I was going from JFK to Newark, NJ. A trip that should have taken about 2 hours at the time we were on the road - 1AM to 5AM. The poor guy had a hard time finding the place. He never raised his voice. He didn't over charge me either, He charged me what it should have cost, he was apologetic and very humble a marked difference from what the usual NY taxi driver is like. ---------- It was Supposed to have been a joke : Posted by JR on 10/11/2001, 6:37 am , in reply to "That reminds me of the time..." Dear Anthony, But, you are right. Most Muslims here in the States are more dedicated to their morals than Christians. They are usually very polite and generous, and do not resemble Islam of the Middle East very much at all. As a matter of fact, I think a person like Dikembe Mutombo(sp?) should be highly respected for his heart and love of his native countrymen. I have a question: Do you think that a man like Mutombo who has done so much for the relief of his peoples suffering should be tortured forever if he doesn't convert to Christianity? This is just a question to get your thoughts, not an attempt to start a debate. I respect your thoughts. May Yahweh bless you, JR One of these days I maybe a judge of the world, but... God's grace can cover the sins of adulterers, murderers, cheats...etc. God can do whatever he wants. Fair or unfair he is God. What always bothers me is to think that this inconsequential spirit called Satan can hold God by the nose like he seems to be doing. For our Seattle friends.....Just in Posted by Gordy on 10/11/2001, 4:10 pm , in reply to "Afghan's retalliation threatened........Just in" Latest news reports advise that a cell of 4 terrorists has been operating in the Boeing Renton plant. Police advised earlier today that 3 of the 4 have been detained. Boeing security stated that the terrorists Bin Sleepin, Bin Drinkin and Bin Fightin have been arrested on immigration issues. Police are confident that anyone who looks to be Workin will be very easy to spot in the plant. ---------- Posted by Dave Kenady on 10/11/2001, 6:41 pm , in reply to "For our Seattle friends.....Just in" Got a big laugh out of that one! ---------- Posted by Pat on 10/11/2001, 8:27 pm , in reply to "For our Seattle friends.....Just in" Thanks Gordy, I needed a good laugh! Posted by Eh You on 10/11/2001, 8:42 pm “God hid Moses’ body (on Mount Nebo) so that he could use him again for His purpose at the end of the world. Therefore the two olive trees and two candelsticks (of Revelation) are unmistakably Moses and Elijah” (Page 177, The Apocalyptic Prophecy, Creation House 1998, author, David Y. Cho). This is the latest and greatest book about Revelation to roll off of the press—being the greatest book about Revelation to come from the hand of one of the most awesome authors on the subject of apocalyptic prophecy—Mr. Cho. When a respected author like Cho uses the word “unmistakably” to hammer home a doctrine, the statement demands that anyone coming to a different conclusion is mistaken. Therefore, Author Unknown from this board who holds a different view about the subject, a view outside of one that it is “unmistakably” obvious must be dead-wrong! I would hate to be Author Unknown right now! ---------- Whatcho point? nt Posted by Gordy on 10/12/2001, 2:24 pm , in reply to "Author Unknown is Dead Wrong?" ---------- Re: Is Author Unknown Dead Wrong? Posted by Author Unknown on 10/13/2001, 4:54 pm , in reply to "Author Unknown is Dead Wrong?" Many books on Revelation have the Rapture occurring before a single event on Revelation’s roster unfolds. Some are convinced that the Church is taken from the Earth in Chapter 4:1 where the Bibles says, “Come up here.” The context of this verse does not demand this interpretation because it is John who ascends upward, nevertheless this text is used as a Rapture proof text in some books. Many authors do not believe the Women of Revelation Chapter 12 is the church as is the case of the author of which the “Unknown” poster quotes. As it is penned, “However, the Bible never uses the image of a woman to symbolize a church” (page 179, Cho). I am in no position to disagree with a man who would claim such a thing. He is just adding weight to his argument that the Church is nowhere to be found after the fourth chapter. I do not have a beef with people who do not have the same understanding of Revelation as I do. I understand that many modern writers have differing levels of bible knowledge. Yet the Truth remains constant! Case in point: Jesus is seen standing among seven golden lampstands in Chapter One of Revelation. In verse 20 it is written that the seven golden lampstands are seven churches. Overlooking the possibility that lampstands still represent churches in Chapter 11 is not what I have chosen to do— I have chosen a more consistent approach in my work. I try to harmonize scripture, then lay down evidence and let the reader come to his/her conclusions. The Truth is all that matters to me. I did not write a book so I could be popular. Many people will be convinced that I am dead-wrong. All I ask is this, Let me share in your suffering dear Jesus! That I may gain the patience to turn the world upside down! ---------- Now I know...
