Posted by Marlene Brown/AU, et al on 9/13/2001, 2:07 pm Posted by Marlene Brown on 8/2/2001, 8:33 am It's been about 7 months since I last posted. But yesterday someone told me about a book which Barbara Barnett had written about her experience with the Chapel. I would like to know the name of the book, and if she used a pseudonym, what it is, and the ISBN number so that I may attempt to acquire the book for myself. Thanks to anyone who responds. If you all know of other books like this -- please let me know about them. Marn ---------- Posted by RS on 8/2/2001, 10:35 am , in reply to "Barnett Book" I'm also interested in buying the book, I've called the publisher but they no longer have it in stock. Does anyone have an extra/used copy that they would be willing to sell to me? ---------- Posted by New Wife on 8/2/2001, 4:57 pm , in reply to "Barnett Book" I also tried ordering from the publisher with no luck, so I looked up Barbara in the phone book and ordered one directly from her. It's called The Truth Shall Set You Free - Confessions of a Pastor's Wife. She wrote it under her real name, but has since remarried and her last name is Lockhart. I think with shipping, it ran about $20 total. I tried real quick to find her number just before posting this but could not locate it. If I come across it, I will forward it to your email rather than posting it here. By the way, I just noticed you asked about the ISBN #. Not sure how it will help you, but it is 1-883893-67-4. There is another book written by a former member that I did not really enjoy as well as I did Barbara's. You can find information on it in the 'News' section of this website. Hope this helps. God bless you. ---------- Posted by Dave Kenady on 8/2/2001, 7:24 pm , in reply to "Barnett Book" As has been said, I think Barbara's book is out of print now. I ordered mine from Winepress when they were in stock. I believe Barbara was selling them in person also. Sandra Anderson also wrote a book and I think used the same publisher. She apparently still sells her book called "Angels Can Fall". Sandra was married to a Chapel elder and Bible College teacher. Names were changed in her book, but if you were there, you'll know who she is, who her husband was and who others are. Chapel Links page - "Angels Can Fall" link ---------- Posted by lanny on 8/6/2001, 5:39 pm , in reply to "Barnett Book" Barbara is still selling her book herself. She would be more than happy to sell you a copy. If you e-mail me directly I will pass on her phone number. It may be available in information. She has had this number for about 10 years. Her book is more on the positive side of things. I believe the other book is more on the negative side. I think the titles reflect that. Lanny ____________________ Posted by Author Unknown on 8/13/2001, 4:51 pm Dear Lanny: Pastor Joe now has my book. Greg Thei. and I went to New Heart on Sunday. We loved the service. Two copies of my book were given out. Joe may have forgotten me over the years, how would I know? Please let him know that this is a work that should be given due merit. New Heart may benefit from receiving this work. Thank you Lanny. ---------- Posted by lanny on 8/13/2001, 9:18 pm , in reply to "Message to Lanny" If I don't hear anything after a while, I will ask him what he thought. Keep up the good work! Lanny
