Posted by Cliff/Dave K., et al on 9/2/2001, 2:25 pm Posted by Cliff on 7/4/2001, 8:16 am ---------- Posted by Steve B. on 7/4/2001, 9:39 am , in reply to "Proposal...Geneva Convention" Cliff, I have no objection to this. I will even let you pick the scriptures. However, because of today's holiday, my approaching out-of-town vacation beginning on the 12th (through the 27th), and a project I must get done at work before I leave, this will probably be the last posting I can make until around the 28th or so. But I will be glad to participate at that time. Sincerely, Steve Posted by Dave Kenady on 7/1/2001, 5:42 pm from Carol Pack: I don't know if all of you remember Wyman Smalley or not, but he was a part of CC and worked in the accounting department there for many years. I just learned today that Wyman went home to be with the LORD early this morning. He was surrounded by family and friends that loved him. Please remember Jaci, his widow, in your prayers. Carol Pack ---------- Posted by lanny on 7/3/2001, 6:56 am , in reply to "Wyman Smalley" I talked to Jaci on the phone on Monday. She said Wyman passed away with family at his bedside and it was very peaceful. The Lord is faithful to his servants. He had been suffering from cancer for awhile. There has not been a date set for any service yet. lanny ____________________ Posted by Dave Kenady on 7/1/2001, 12:53 pm For my part, it really appears to me that you're saying you are going to hang on to your understanding and your UROG theology no matter what the Bible says about God and about Jesus. That really is fine with me, and I really do understand it in light of what we both went through at the Chapel, but I myself must put it behind me. This comment inspired two threads which I am going to start. This first one deals with the end of your comment, "I myself must put it behind me." I think everyone here would not only agree, but would rally around our common experience of finding that the boat left us as we were being told to stay in the boat. The Chapel split in 1988 and everyone in the church had a decision to make. Some went this way, some went that. But we all had to go in some direction because our church was gone. At any rate, through all the doctrinal arguments here, we can at least all relate to the fact that our church disintegrated and we all had to start the process of putting it behind us. Even people in the Church of Agape who probably view themselves as the continuation of the vision had to put the Chapel split behind them. I've heard Don say as much from the pulpit. So, at least we have one thing in common. The differences we have as a result of the split of our church can never change the fact that we all faced the same decision in 1988. We all headed out in different directions because there was a vacuum where we were standing together. We are still brothers and sisters.
Proposal...Geneva Convention
We could take one difficult scripture at a time and wrestle out the alternative interpretations for the two positions of Oneness vs Trinity...and stick to that scripture and the rules....
