Posted by Author Unknown, et al on 8/11/2001, 4:58 pm It seems that many people have wandered away from the board over the last year. There have been a few newcomers that were a slash in the pan yet for the most part the traffic has almost come to a stop. Last night I read all the posts on the #9 zip-file about my posting on “The Price of Chili Burgers.” This file is in the main menu under Message Board Archives. I spent the evening reminiscing about that time in my life. I remember talking to Chris W on the phone. And speaking to Phil Maxwell also. He is so on fire for Christ. I remember going to the COA and meeting several people there and how I walked away with mixed feelings. This Message Board has been a part of my life over the last year. We as a Body do still shine. I am looking forward to meeting face to face with a few of you posters in due time, until then keep posting now and then. ---------- Posted by Keith on 6/10/2001, 4:44 pm , in reply to "Who's going to break the silence?" Thanks AU, I still enjoy reading and posting on this board. It has been a real blessing to me, even though I've slowed down a bit. I would hope more people that attended CC would stumble across it. When I get no responses to what I post, I sometimes wonder if anyone has read it. I get the feeling probably at least a few people have so its worth it. I think we should keep plugging away, we might be suprised again down the road on how things pick up. ---------- Posted by Steve B. on 6/10/2001, 8:17 pm , in reply to "Who's going to break the silence?" AU, I check the board nearly every day. I think lots of people probably do, but not every topic draws the same degree of interest. And also as time goes on, I think it is only natural for participation to fall off somewhat. People realize they cannot live in the past forever, they come to some resolution of their Chapel experience, and they move on. As far as my own participation goes, there are spiritual and theological issues that remain extremely interesting to me. Pretty soon I will be posting a book report on a cool book I found recently, God Crucified, by Richard Bauckham, a scholar of the New Testament who teaches at St. Andrews University in Scotland. Sincerely, Steve Born ---------- Posted by lanny on 6/11/2001, 6:07 pm , in reply to "Who's going to break the silence?" I have greatly appreciated this board and the opportunity to renew contact with many friends. I check in several times a week and read any new postings. I respond when the fancy strikes me. Keep up the good work all you "posters." You are being read. Lanny ---------- Posted by Mitchell on 6/12/2001, 7:07 am , in reply to "Who's going to break the silence?" I used to post under a different pseudonym. I learned a lot from reading and participating on the board, and God used it to bring much freedom into my life. Thank you all for that. Still, I noticed that many of the posters were a bit too free to crush peoples' opinions and different ideas and means that they chose to free themselves of some of the damaging attitudes that were born under DB. In other words, some of the haughty and snobby attitudes are sadly still out there in many who have been gone from CC for years! This eventually drove me and others like me away. ---------- Posted by Harry Case on 7/8/2001, 6:59 pm , in reply to "Who's going to break the silence?" You might be surprised at who visits the site to read and learn, without making any comments.
