Posted by Dave Kenady, et al on 8/10/2001, 5:10 pm I attended tonight's service. It was nice. It was ever so pleasing to see people in the building worshipping God and giving out a positive message. It was good to see the old facility being used on God's behalf. It was comforting to once again enter into worship with a group of people who love God. The music was quite good. A couple of songs really touched me. There was a brother from Zimbabwe who preached. I saw lots of familiar faces -- lots. I ran right into Lanny when I walked into the sanctuary and said hello. I saw Sam's dad. I saw Earl Thurner, Jamie Hansen, Bob DeWitt, Dave Hunt, lots of folks. My sister was on the platform and I sat with my brother-in-law. I'm glad I went. I struggled with it all day Sunday. Here is a picture I captured tonight. There will be a few others to follow including a couple short movie files. ---------- I also attended New Heart's Conference Posted by Author Unknown on 5/28/2001, 5:09 am , in reply to "New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" I also attended the Sunday evening service at the New Chapel on first St. Dave I wanted to meet with you, but in the crowd I never saw you. I kept seeing camera flashes going off and I thought; “could that be Dave?” I also looked for Sam M. and Matt G. without any success. What I did find was people praying in the back prayer room over an hour before the service and I mean “In the Spirit.” I also found a praise service with excellent music. The songs were simple to learn, in a key that I could sing, and modern sounding. They were easy to use as a vehicle to praise with. What I saw was people in ministries that were bringing in the harvest. I saw a Church that supports missionary work across the globe. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help feeling perplexed about siting in the same red pews and praying in the same prayer room 19 years later like time had stood still. I new that time had not stood still. Only the building was the same. While my Spirit soared, my heart was also sinking. All of the memories were flooding my soul. We can never go back to the Chapel. ---------- The memories Posted by Dave Kenady on 5/28/2001, 7:52 am , in reply to "I also attended New Heart's Conference" "All of the memories were flooding my soul." I had the advantage of having been back to the building twice before on the inside and a few other times on the outside taking pictures. My first time inside, I wandered all through the sanctuary and prayer rooms by myself in near darkness. That was very sad because the place was empty and the prayer rooms were filled with storage (see the photos page). So it was actually very nice to see the people bring life back into the building. Yes, New Heart is very mission oriented. My sister has been to Mexico twice already. The Kamps are in the Sudan right now. They are definitely busy. ---------- Posted by Matt Geib on 5/28/2001, 11:08 am , in reply to "New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" Hello Folks, I was at the conference thru Sat eve. I had commitments at my church yesterday so was unable to attend all of the conference.I am sorry I missed you Dave & AU. I also had mixed feelings about going back into that building but after about 20 mins. the 1st night I felt at home. As I shared a few days ago God gave me a scripture before I went (Eph.1:18-20)and it really held true as God met me there in a powerful way & truly made clear my calling & future ministry (to a degree) as I "Dusted off my dream" as Pastor Joe encouraged us. Perhaps I'll share more later. AU I have finished the MS & was truly blessed & astounded, I am now on a more detailed 2nd read & will give you some specific thots in the next couple of Days. God was really at that conference,He has not forgotten any of us!!!Remember the Gifts & callings of God are w/out Repentance!!! Matt ---------- Posted by Keith on 5/28/2001, 12:57 pm , in reply to "New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" I was there Sunday night with my 10 year old son Josh. It was a little strange and sad to go there but overall it was a good experience. I ran into a few familiar faces that I hadn't seen since the late 80's, which was really good. One of the persons I ran into had such a positive excited response in seeing me. That made me feel good. Most people I knew from the early days became standoffish and many other people I just lost contact with. So I've felt like some kind of CC cast off or something. I also ran into someone who went to the Chapel and went to the same high school as me (although I didn't know him too well in high school). He was amazed and pleased that I recognized him and remembered who he was. I wish I could have talked with him longer. I think Lanny was right, I'm glad I went. I saw Lanny there and said hi to him also. ---------- Posted by Lanny on 5/28/2001, 8:07 pm , in reply to "New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" I attended all of the meetings and had an enjoyable time meeting with many old friends. I would have liked to sit down and talk with every one. I could only greet most and had conversations with a few. Friday was very emotional being the first night. Overall it was an experience to be back there and feel so many things. God is still God and whatever was true is still true. lanny ---------- correction! Posted by lanny on 5/28/2001, 8:36 pm , in reply to "Re: New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" I think the new building for New Heart will be seating more like 1000 or so. Don't quote me on that. lanny ---------- Is It Possible to Get Tapes from those Services? Posted by Richard E. on 5/29/2001, 5:57 am , in reply to "Re: New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" For us out-of-towners? And were the messages directed at (or relevant to) ex CC'ers? Is it worthwhile for us to pursue getting the tapes? Richard Esterly ---------- Posted by Matt Geib on 5/29/2001, 7:27 am , in reply to "Is It Possible to Get Tapes from those Services?" Hello Richard, Yes, you can get the tapes. I have an order form Are they relavent for us old ccers? You bet!!! They are right on the Mark!!! God was really there speaking to us about "dusting off our dreams & Stirring up our gifts" & I for one am going to go for this as never before!!! I was unable to attend Sun. but will be getting those tapes myself. If you had any further questions perhaps you could call New Heart (206)246-5326 Matt ---------- tapes Posted by lanny on 5/29/2001, 9:47 pm , in reply to "Is It Possible to Get Tapes from those Services?" I thought the Friday night sermon was anointed for CC'ers. Mike Hayes pastors a large church in Dallas and is married to Joe Parker's sister. I highly recommend that sermon. lanny ---------- Posted by Author Unknown on 5/29/2001, 4:26 pm , in reply to "Re: New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" Oh Lanny, Thank You, Yes, Yes, Yes, "It ain't over" Brother I love you. ---------- More PICTURES Posted by Dave Kenady on 5/29/2001, 7:50 pm , in reply to "New Heart's Conference at the old Chapel Sanctuary" Here are 3 more pictures from the conference, Sunday night service. ---------- blonde lady Posted by lanny on 5/29/2001, 9:42 pm , in reply to "More PICTURES" That blonde lady is a dear friend of mine. In fact I was blessed to perform her wedding a few years ago. She recently celebrated her 70th birthday. She still looks young and fit. You can't guess? I work with her grandson. Why I even talked with her granddaughter today on the phone. Come on ... still can't figure it out? Well, take a moment to meditate ... it will come. lanny ---------- Barbara!!! Yes I know I have an advantage... Posted by Sam Marmon on 5/29/2001, 10:28 pm , in reply to "blonde lady" I have a hard time believing she is 70!!!

Of course the building itself is beautiful. How spoiled we were! New Heart has been trying to build a building that seats 600-800 or so for a couple of years. Imagine the spiritual forces behind that incredible santuary. I felt that the magnitude and beauty of that building only reflected the magnitude of the call of God on every one of us. I felt flooded with emotion as I sat in this building- a testimony to a powerful outpouring of the Spirit of God. Hey, folks...it ain't over! Just as that building is still there and available for Christian groups so is the impartation of the Spirit of God in the lives of every CC'er. I thought the Friday night sermon spoke directly to us.
here in front of me now at my office. If you were
to order they are $5.00 each w/.75 for shipping, so it would be $57.50 for the 10 sessions/meetings, this includes 3 workshops (missionary, worship & prayer) held Sat. afternoon.
