Posted by mark on 4/9/2007, 11:41 am Second I have a Galaxy 300 amplifier. It has new capacitors in the power supply and new tubes. It uses 30KD6 tubes, which are inexpensive. I bought several on Ebay for $8 each. The amp uses two tubes. The original fan was very loud and has been replaced with a much quieter fan. The amp is clean like the radio.

I have a Galaxy 2517 for sale. It is clean, and has been upgraded. The upgrades are higher wattage AM power regulator, Schottky diodes in the NB and detector stage, and lower noise, higher gain IF amplifier transistor. The radio has not been peaked out, no modulation limiters removed. It works very well. The Echo was disabled, and the echo control is now a RX tone control. Nothing was removed, and the echo could be restored. The radio will come with a Silver Salute microphone.The microphone is in very good condition.
