/s,z,ch,zh,j/ first grade. /r/ second grade. To dismiss we have to assess first and hold an iep. For educational impact, the reality is that for lots of kids, there is really no significant impact. But as the other poster said, sometimes the child is reluctant to communciate or particpate in oral communication. Other times, the errors influence spelling, such as the child who spells "rabbit" as "wabbit" because that is how he says the word in his mind. Oral communciation is part of the curriculum. Check the grade level standards for anything that involves oral commnication and then you can link your impact statement to the standard.
