Posted by exi75 As far as materials/games/prizes/stickers etc... - Webber Jumbo Artic Book I spend more $ on artic materials than language materials b/c you can use anything to work on language - current spelling lists, current story in reading, science/social studies vocab etc. If you have a Dollar Tree (or similar type store in your area) PLEASE visit it - the Dollar Tree has nothing over $1 - I get ALL of my stickers and prizes there! The kids are always in awe of my "great" prizes - if they only knew I got them in a 8-pack for $1! I have also turned on some reg. ed. teachers to the joys of dollar stores. Another resource I used when starting out - yard sales and the Salvation Army. I have been able to get cheap games, books etc. at these types of locations. Keep in mind it is a building process - every year you'll get more and more. Just prioritize. I try to some of my budget every year on getting updated tests and test forms. You'd be amazed at how many GFTA-2 forms you can go through in a year! Hope this info helped. Best wishes in the new school year!

When I first began working in a public school, I had mostly outdated materials. One thing that no one else mentioned - if there are other SLPs in your district, see what you can borrow. The SLPs in my district borrow from one another all the time - tests especially since they are so expensive.
- Webber Artic Cards
- picture books - I have used these for language, finding words with artic targets in, conversation etc.
