I have had great success with my homework folders. I have parents coming and telling me that no other SLP has done with their child. Of course, there are the few that never return from the first day of school. I also have a reward system set up that when they bring their homework 5 times they get in the treasure box. This is a really good incenttive.
On the outside of my folders I put a big label that says speech therapy homework folder and their name at the bottom of the folder. On the inside is a short letter to the parents asking for their help with their child's homework. This is also on a label and I just stick it on there.
At the end of each session the kids get a sticker and most of them place them on their homework folders and the compitition can become fierce. Hope this helps.
