Hi Everybody
I have been in practice for 1.5 years and in a school district since August. I serve preschoolers and have a caseload of 80. I have no support from my supervisor who promised me guidance and a mentor as I am on an emergency credential and have had little experience. She is never available when I need her yet seems to have a negative comment toward me when I do. Anyway, I need ideas on artic therapy. I enjoy playing games with my students but one mother went to my supervisor - not me - this last week and complained that her daughter has not gotten better. I am always giving her progress reports and home activities yet she doesn't like my technique - that she has never seen - and wants her daughter drilled in a quiet one - on - one setting. I travel between schools and rather than have the private room I was promised, I work in a spec ed preschool. My caseload is too big for many one-on ones - but I have always seen her this way except for a ten minute overlap with another student...this was the last straw I guess. Anyway, I need someone to provide me some kind of guidance and reassurance. Do you believe in drill and kill with a three year old? I finally got her to produce /f/ but the mother wants more...
