I highly suggest getting large world and United States maps to put on the wall of your therapy room. The junior high students really like the maps, because they look more grown up than most speech posters. Also, I found that most of my students have absolutely no knowledge of geography. When I am reading a story with the kids, I sometimes ask them to use the maps to show me where they think the story takes place. When we are talking about an animal, for example an elephant, I'll ask them to show me where they think the animal lives. We get into great discussions about how things are different in different places.
