Thank you both for your responses. My husband also had a non compete in a different field however, if they chose to "hold him out" for 12 months they had to pay his salary for that period of time. I would definately have an attorney look into it before signing. The one I am looking at is very specific to working as an SLP and it further states that by signing your agreeing that it does not interfere with your right to work. Although it seems to me it absolutely does. I understand not opening my own business or taking the client base. However to state that I can't work in my given field for 12 as an officer,director, consoltant, or employee seems severely restricting. It appears based on my current search that the school districts in Az. staff through these agencies and do not hire directly so I am very apprehensive about moving and taking a postion and then being so restricted should it not work out. I will continue to look into it!
