I have been an administrator for 6 years and have just returned to speech. I cannot believe how much more paperwork there is and how complicated everything has become in that time. The focus is certainly no longer on the good of the student in my county; it is on the letter of the law, paperwork, and preventing lawsuits. This has been a very discouraging eye-opener.
