Hello Speech friends,
I wanted to enlighten my supervisor on how much of my time is spent on top of direct therapy services so I made the list below. In my district, speech therapists are not permitted to schedule in any time for non-teaching duties. I listed two of my greatest time consumers, IEP progress review/reporting and conducting evaluations. I made two columns for "Speech Only" students which I case manage and those referred by the child study team. Before I provided any data to my boss, I became worried that perhaps it's me that's slowing down since more and more of my work is coming home with me! I would like to request one hour per day on top of my lunch and prep time. I'm quite sure I'll be told "forget it."
I would appreciate your feedback on the amount of time you spend on the following responsibilities. I hope the columns line up correctly. I cut and past from a word document. With positions being reduced due to budget cuts, I fear what may become an unmanageable work situation. I'd also appreciate any feedback on paperwork reduction suggestions that have work for you.
