You are entitled to sick time and/or time off. Teachers get that after all...right. Anyway, we must have time in our schedule for indirect therapy responsibiblities and we are not held responsible for missed sessions..the DISCTRICT is. Imagine the uproar if a regular ed. teacher had to make up a lost lesson or sick time...Our organization (asha) does nothing to help us...wait don't I owe them $225.00 for them representing me??? What a waste and a scam. If I don't pay I am not "certified"..yeah, sure what a joke...You have better representation with the teacher's union. ASHA is too busy expanding our scope of practice and not dealing with real-life issues like caseload size and paper-work demands. Yeah....I am not happy with ASHA...bet I am not the only one...especially this time of year...
