I live in Maryland where we are required to make up therapy sessions if the therapist is absent or the student is on a field trip or in an assembly. If I were you, I would make the time up for the student whose parent is complaining and make up any future sessions that you miss with that child. Essentially, the parent is right that you didn't provide the time stated on the IEP. But, I agree with you, it is not fair that we have to make up time when we are absent. In my state, I hate to take a day off just because it is so hard to make up all the missed sessions. Be glad you don't live in a state where you have to make up all missed sessions.
