I want to share with you my #1 success of the year. You may want to try this. I completed my speech schedule in less than 15 minutes yesterday. I went through all progress reports and grouped my kids and wrote their names on sticky notes. Each sticky note represents a 30 minute time block. I also made them for groups of four for 5 minute kids. I made a poster size schedule to hang on the wall. I made a gallon of lemonade, bought some cookies, grapes and snack mix. Then I made a little flyer and sent it out to all the teachers that we were having a speech scheduling meeting after school. Teachers will come to anything for food. When teachers arrived they picked up their sticky notes for their grade level and placed them on the schedule at there preferred time. If a team took their time they had to problem solve to figure it out. Seriously they were all in and out in 15 minutes. They own it and I should get no complaints of the time they picked. Unless they were under delusion from the triple chocolate cookies I served. I typed it up this morning and it is done. This totally saved me from the bargaining and running back and forth to make everyone happy!
I wish it would not have taken me 15 years to figure this out!
