I do not have my CCC's and have worked in schools for 15 years. I had a terrible experience during my CFY. My supervisor had a mid life crisis and took off and did not sign off on my hours. I was going to have to do my whole CFY over, and pay the extra back fees too. I was not willing to do that. Not to mention that even during my clinical's my supervisors where terrible. At that point I decided that having your CCC's does not make you any better SLP than I am. I keep up with professional development and network with my collegues. I have no desire to do anything than to work in schools. So to me, CCC's mean nothing and I spend that extra $200 dollars on ME! Keep in mind if you let your CCC's go now they also make you retake the ASHA exam. if it is over a certain amount of time.
