Hi
Every year as my ASHA dues bill comes right before Christmas I ask myself why do I still pay this? I work in the schools and do not need it for my position. However, many years ago I let it go, and wanted it back to do some private work and I was forced by ASHA to pay the 5 years of back dues! As I see it right now, ASHA does nothing for me. The Certification - although we all earned it - must be paid for every year. Are there other SLP's out there in the schools who do not renew every year? I am seriously thinking about it again. The $200.00 they want for me to sign CCC-SLP behind my name - and get ONE journal for them each year is becoming a hardship.
