Scheduling is like reinventing the wheel each year. What has worked for me:
- is to look at the students' needs and group those that seem to fit together best
-get schedules from teachers
-plug in the speech kids into a schedule and coordinate with other service providers
-then cross my fingers that it will all work out!
I have found that the less I ask teachers what times they want the more success I have had scheduling. As I add students through later in the year I send teachers time options.
Your work site may play into the scheduling due to past practice, supervisor/principal guidelines etc.
