I go into the special education class 1 x wk. and pullout the other time. We have worked on reading stories and answering questions, predictions, main ideas, vocabulary definitions.
I try to get a book that can be easily read aloud within the session and they might be able to accelerated reader test on. Today we worked on learning how to ask ?'s.
I took several object photos and told tem I was thinking of only one picture.
They had to ask yes/no questions by asking about an attribute- color, shape, function, etc. in order to find the correct picture. For some of the other kids, I made them come to the front and ask a student the ?s. This way we worked on body space, eye contact, converational body language, etc. They usually can use any of these skills so that should meet their IEP. The Brennan Bear series is fun for spatial concepts- Listening for Basic Concepts.Good luck!
