Enough is enough. As SLPs we have diluted and revised our professional goals to work under IDEA in the schools. We have labored under IEPs, Medicaid, and district and state mandates.Our intentions were good, but now it is time to change. I suggest we continue our services under a WHOLE NEW MODEL based on theraputic intervention We need to unchain our services and let us do what we were trained and called into this profession to do: PROVIDED HIGHLY SPECIALIZED SERVICES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM. Let's stop fooling ourselves and tell others we can't continue under current conditions. ENOUGH!
