working at the high school

I will be working at the high school level in January for the first time (I never worked higher than 8th grade). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep their motivation high/keep their interest and any therapy ideas? They are mostly low functioning, but sorry, I don't know exactly what types of kids I will have. Thanks,in advance!!
