I would love to know what responses you get. I have some of the same problems. I came into a school where the last SLP did send home homework folders. I continued that for 1 year and found that I would forget to remind the kids to bring them or the students that came on their own would forget. This year, I have just been giving out homework and the students place the homework in the homework folder from the class. I also give the teacher a "speech homework" folder that stays in her class. So, when students bring back their speech homework but it's not a speech day, they have a place to put their work. When I go to pick them up, I just check the teachers folder for homework returned or any notes from the child's parents for me. My problem is how to keep track of when I send homework home and if they returned it. I do give my students a sticker on a sticker chart I keep with their progress note everytime they attend speech (as long as they follow the speech rules). If they return homework signed, they get 2 stickers for that day. After getting 10 stickers, they get in the treasure box.
