Some kids value the tiniest, cheapest prizes the most, and others like the bigger ones. I do have to say that almost universally, little BOYS choose my sparkly rhinestone-looking necklaces! Even pink and purple ones. I could make those worth the most points of all, and I'd motivate the kindergarten-through-second grade boys all year :)

I use individual sticker charts that look like a game board, and the prizes "happen" at random intervals. The kids really like this -- sometimes they have to wait a long time for a prize and other times it comes along quickly. It's on the materials exchange 3. It's not a fancy board game, because I made it with the Word document "draw" toolbar, but it gives the basic idea for distributing prizes.
