At my school we have a child whose attention span is very low. His resource teacher has a goal that he will "attend to a task for 3 minutes." I think you could even go as far to say "Will attend to a structured task for 3 minutes in 4/5 sessions with no more than 1 verbal cue". Over 5 sessions you could measure his ability to do this. You may have to give him 4 or 5 cues when you first work with him, but see if over time, you are having to redirect him less. Hope this helps.
