I'll be working in a middle school for the first time starting next month. I've worked with this population some, but they were in juvenile detention or a residential treatment. These are a very different setting than an actual school. In elementary school, the kids got stickers after each session and after 5 stickers, got to go to the treasure box. I'm wondering if there's some sort of incentive for this age, with a little more mature appeal. It was 100% therapy in the other settings. I thought it would be nice to reward the kids somehow for completing homework and working hard in therapy. I won't be doing a lot of games and things, so I thought this was important.
