Though Php is good, you can use php to create scripts that can generate other things. For instance, the URL Program That I mentioned earlier. I had the program generate VBS to generate the pages. I transfered that to php. The page works fine, but medusa was unable to read the script, or so it seemed. When the page loads, in the first few seconds, it already generates tons of links, but medusa ended the search in a few seconds. Anyways, if you want to do a test run of a plugin area, use a script control. If you want to throw it our there full force, use dlls. Well, I myself would say a dll setup would be best. That would give the ability for us to more greatly create plugins in the languge we know, considering dlls can be made in just about any language there is. It would be best, though, to have specific classes for the dlls. We would then just need to register the plugin name in medusa. IE: ABC.MedusaLinkSorter or Phoenix.MedusaSaveSearch, etc.
--They created a program called ultra hal. If 6 is out, then the main brain of the program is done in pure vbs. This allows users to go in and modify the way the AI program works and responds. It might give you a couple ideas. On another note, Hal can launch programs, so it would be nice if there were extra tags we could use in launching medusa. IE:
"'D:\Medusa.exe' -URL=Http://www.candego.com" would launch a default search of all file types, 3 depth, no special treatment at candego.com. Then we could tell hal to search for zip files at site xyz.
