Morning Christian Words of Encouragement – “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here….

Thought For Today – “My Misery Became My Ministry…”
Good morning Saints! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? Did you have a great week this week, I sure hope so? How many of my readers are going thru sometype of “misery” in their lives right now? Come on now, don’t be shy! Remember, being that this question posed to you and asking you to raise your hands, is more for you to declare it to the Lord God in Heaven not me. I can’t see how many of you that have your hands up because of this being via email instead of in person. Maybe not all of my readers are going thru some pain, misery, chaos, or better yet, “a period of lack,” but I betcha some of you are! It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about “My Misery Became My Ministry.” I like the sound of that one! I KNOW “that’ll Preach right thurr! (yes I meant to spell it like that LOL!) And AMEN, AMEN, and AMEN again goes RIGHT here! When talking about “misery,” in order to effectively get this messages’ point across, I feel it is imperative that we define the word so that you can better understand how God wanted me to use it in this situation or “Thought For Today.” The dictionary definition of MISERY is as follows : “A state or feeling of great distress or discomfort of mind or body. A cause or source of great distress or discomfort.” Now I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying, “misery loves company” right? Meaning that when a person is in a miserable state of mind, they want someone else to be miserable too. Well, I’m not that person. When I’m miserable, I just want to be left alone and by myself MOST of the time until it passes. However, there are time (because I AM human) when I would like someone to be there to try and snap me out of it, encourage me out of it, or even chastise me out of it!
Now, as I like to do from time to time, I would like to throw you a curveball. Did you know, that experiencing “misery” doesn’t always have to be a bad thing? I know, I know, I know, you are wondering if I’ve lost my mind with that statement right? LOL! But seriously, do me a favor? Look at your virtual neighbor on the left, then on your right and say “Carlos, you are going to have to explain this one a little bit further, because that doesn’t make much sense.” The best way I can break it down to you is like this, if we never experienced any misery, aka “Storms,” #1. We would never learn just how strong we could be when we needed to be, am I right? #2. We would never learn how strong our Faith was and if or not we needed it to be strengthened. This is very important in our walk with Christ, because EVERYTHING we do with regards to Christ, Salvation, and the Kingdom of Heaven requires us to practice STRONG mustard seed Faith! #3. We would never be able to minister to someone else who might be going thru some misery of their own that’s similar to yours. The Bible teaches us, that we are supposed minister to the lost in an attempt to lead them to the Cross of Salvation. The best way to accomplish this in MY humble opinion, is to share examples of some of YOUR misery moments from your past, or present. People tend to open up more to you when they feel they can relate to you somehow on some deeper level than just acquaintances. #4. We would never be able to teach our children the right way, and the wrong way to live their lives, nor prepare them for what they may face in their adult futures. It is a PROVEN fact, that trial and error are the best two teachers in life that we’ll ever have! There is nothing like having to learn something the hard way, because we wouldn’t listen to our parents when they tried to tell us beforehand when we were younger, what could happen if we did this or did that the wrong way. I know I wish I had listened to my mother, grandmother, grandfather, uncles and aunts more when I was younger! I would have saved myself from some very hard lessons I learned in my early life days! And AMEN goes right here!
The misery from my past has shaped me into the person I am today! And I’m sure you can also say that about the person you are today. In my case, as well as all the other true messengers of God in Heaven, those past and maybe even current miseries also shaped our Ministries too! And actually, my miseries BECAME my Ministry! I have been told more times than I can count or remember, “Carlos, you are one very wise man, God truly Blessed you with a lot of knowledge and common sense. You missed your calling, you should have been a counselor, or teacher, or a coach both basketball (which I am to an extent in that I coach AAU basketball), and also a “life coach,” and if you’ve kept up with some of the comments from my loyal readers on my past “Thoughts For Today” posts, a Preacher! God may call, or tap me ONE DAY and tell me that is my “calling,” but for now, I’m going to continue with what I know for a fact He called me to do, in being a messenger in the capacity that I am right now, sharing my Spiritual thoughts via email, and social media, and sometimes even in person when needed, or the opportunity presents itself. I am reminded of a few people in the Bible who shares my premise “My Misery Became My Ministry,” when Saul transformed from murdering and torturing Christians, to becoming a champion server of Jesus Christ, after having a chance meeting with Him. Now, don’t take that statement the wrong way! I am NOT stating in anyway form or fashion, that I am as famous or “important, popular, notorious” etc… as Saul or these other examples. Just that I can understand how they used their misery to elevate their walk with Christ Jesus! Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his own brothers. However, God’s plan for Joseph was to become Prime Minister under Pharaoh in Egypt. Moses, who God used to deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt and slavery and just to the border of their Promised Land, but Moses’ journey to get to that point of leadership was a long one. In wrapping this up, don’t underestimate your struggles, pains, or “Miseries” as being wasted time or are of little importance or value. You wouldn’t be where you are without them! Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“Are YOU Using Your Misery Moments For Anything Good or Positive Towards The Kingdom of Heaven?”
