The Third Eye Perspective:
Morning Christian Words of Encouragement – “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here….

Thought For Today – “Appetites, What Aer You Hungry For?”
Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this Friday morning, good I hope? I hope that you have had a good work week and are ready to relax or enjoy your weekend doing something fun? If you are like me, you love to eat good food? And I also have a BIG appetite when I do eat LOL. I guess that’s one reason I made sure I learned how to cook from my Mother and Grandmother. I knew I would be one of those guys who liked to eat a lot, and in order to survive in the world away from the nest aka Home, a single feller needs to learn how to cook for himself. It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about “Appetites, What Are You Hungry For?” And AMEN goes right here! I have been told by a lot of people who have had the privilege of tasting it, that my cooking skills are pretty darn good, especially on the grill. Whether that is true or not I don’t know, but one thing is for sure, I love to cook. Even my son Dawson tells me frequently, what he wants me to cook him for supper and if you think my appetite is big, wait until you see him eat! LOL! My grandmother used to tell me that she enjoyed cooking for me because I would eat everything on my plate and also in sight too. As the old saying goes, “BIG BOYS GOTTA EAT A LOT” LOL! Just like Dallas Cowboys running by Ezekiel Elliott says, “FEEEEED MEEEE” LOL! And it is good to have a big appetite as long as you are burning off as many calories as you are taking in. And there lies the problem with me, I love taking food in, but having to put forth the effort to burn it off, well that’s a whole different ballgame. I have gotten a lot better in recent years, but ever since my metabolism has slowed down due to getting older, it has become a concerted effort to get off and keep off excess weight. Country women like a man that can eat, I have learned this from my grandmother. Every meal she cooked was like a Golden Corral Buffet, and not very many times were there leftovers, because she cooked THAT well. Momma G was also a great cook, and nomatter how hard she worked on her job, she always came home and cooked us a very good meal.
What if I were to tell you, that not all “appetites” are healthy? I see you are looking at me a little cross-eyed and like a mule about to kick as my Grandfather would say? But it’s true, there are some very dangerous “appetites,” that if they end up coming into contact with your taste buds, might just get you addicted to them! Things like powerful drugs such as cocaine, heroin, crack, cigarettes, or alcohol. You see, there’s this here feller named Satan, and he is a master at cooking up “appetite enticers” custom made just for certain people. And his purpose, is to entice your taste buds to try certain things designed to destroy your Spiritual well-being, and separate you from God. The problem is, that we don’t even realize it until usually it is too late and we have already sampled that/those “appetites” and become entwined and entangled up in their addictive webs. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know, you need examples in order to know exactly what I’m referring to right? Okay, well here goes some of the most common “appetites” are Money, Power, Sex, and again powerful Drugs. Look around you, the whole world is obsessed with all four of those very addicting “appetites”. Look at what people are doing for money nowadays, and that is from the very richest people in the world, on down to the most destitute ones. And again, I don’t want to come across as if I’m clumping “everyone” into this category, there are always a percentage of people who don’t fall into this category. Especially in this day and age, where the economy is so very bad, money and especially the “lack thereof,” has people doing some very desperate things to try and get money to survive. Some of the poorest people are robbing, scheming, and conning to get it. Some are just too lazy to get a job, while yet others have just given up on being willing to work any kind of job to earn an honest paycheck. The so-called “middle and lower class”, or the “backbone of America” are working twice as hard it seems to just be able to have breathing room financially. While a lot of the wealthiest people in the world, who have so much “excess,” that they couldn’t spend it in 5-10 lifetimes, are hoarding their fortunes and trying to get more. I guess they don’t realize they can’t take it with them when they die?? Our trusted Governmental officials, have abused, used, and spent so much of our hard earned tax money so inappropriately, that they (Both Dems and Republicans) have placed what was once a thriving, and prosperous country into a deeply debt filled one. Pretty soon, if there isn’t a drastic change in spending habits we will all be forced to speak Chinese. And ironically, it all started with just an “appetite” for a little more than what they had at the time.
I guess Power and Money could actually go together, being that they go hand in hand. Most people, and notice I said “most people,” who have an excess of money, also have and excess of ego’s to match the size of money in their bank accounts. And for some of those same people, the thirst, hunger, or “appetite” to gain more and more power, prestige, and recognition, is so far out of control, that nothing and no one besides God, can control them. These people will talk to other people, whom they perceive as being less important, or inferior than they are, like they are trash or scum of the earth, with no respect shown or given, intentionally. Ironically, those same people if they lose their prestige, wealth, and power, usually can’t handle being back among the “poe folk” group of the social totem pole. They end up losing their minds, or worst committing suicide. Sex, WHEW this is one that the Church folk really don’t like to speak on very much, unless they absolutely have to. That’s because, so much regarding those three little letters are “taboo”. But sexual appetites are running just as rampant and out of control as the others, if not more. You see this evil a lot in the worst place you could possibly see it, in the Pulpits of Churches. And as I said before, Satan knows how to bring down even the most popular, powerful, and especially the most effective Spiritual leaders of the world. Just look in the news, locally, nationally, and even worldly, you will see how many of them are accused and proven guilty of using their position and power to abuse both women and children in their respected congregations. Why women especially place “Men of the Cloth” on such a high pedestal that they would freely commit adultery, fornication, etc.. with them has always puzzled me. But more importantly, why those very men would give in to the temptation knowing what the consequences are/might be is just as, if not even more puzzling. One thing about Satan, he knows exactly what type of “appetite” to custom design for each of us Christian folk. That is why they are so effective on us, because they are custom designed. Drugs, where do I even begin with this one….I guess the best way to start this one off is to state that I can’t wrap my head around why people even try drugs that they have clearly seen what it does to people? How can you be naďve enough to try it, when people and proven evidence, has shown you how addicting it is to even try it once??? Am I missing something there? Appetites can come in many different shapes, sizes, and forms, but one thing about them, if you don’t pay attention to the “appetites” that are being dangled in front of your taste buds, chances are you will end up sowing a harvest full of chaos, devastation, and destruction. And as the old Biblical verses says, “Whatsoever a man soweth, so shall he reap it”. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today???
“What “appetites” are you nibbling on right now”????
Can I get an Amen???
~Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ. Afterall, didn’t He do exactly that for us?”
