The Third Eye Perspective - Christian Thoughts For Today:
Morning Christian Words of Encouragement – “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here….

Thought For Today – “God Never Multiplies Without Subtracting…”
Good Wednesday Morning Peeps! “Happy Humpity Hump Day” to you! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? I’ve been working on this one for a few days. I have had to edit it over and over again, because it was too long, or there are some important points that I left out that I felt should be put in it. I hope I have put it together now like I feel God wanted it shared with you all. My subject title for this devotional, came to me about a week ago. As I was listening to Ron Carpenter’s message on “Relationships.” Pastor Carpenter was preaching on the criteria of God removing things (and people) from our lives that are not meant to go on the journey God has us on. But also, that sometimes when God is about to Bless us, he has to remove some dead weight from our lives, in order to allow us to appreciate the Blessing more. Also, so that those things He removed wouldn’t suck your Blessing dry from you once He (God) did Bless you. It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning, to bring the following message to you entitled “God Never Multiplies Without Subtracting…” Now I know THAT will Preach right there! Let all the good and faithful Church folk say AMEN! Pastor Carpenter made a very strong statement in his sermon, “Most Preachers either won’t, or don’t like to preach on the subject of God subtracting things from our lives,” because it is a very unpopular subject for people to handle. They want to hear about the “law of multiplication” instead. And aren’t we all like that? We don’t want to hear anyone preaching about things being taken or “subtracted” from our lives, unless it is something that we don’t like or want anymore. Let God start subtracting things,(money, cars, homes, etc..) and more importantly people we like or even worse, “love” from our lives and we are ready to throw a fit on God aren’t we?
Here’s what a lot of Christians should already know, some might actually already know, or may not already know how important this next statement is, in reference to the subject title above…….”Sometimes God has to do a little “pruning” in our lives, to promote some new growth. Now some of you all didn’t get that did you? Some of you have absolutely no clue what “pruning” is do you? Well, the best way that “I” can break it down for you to where even a child could understand it, is to tell you about a very good and dear friend of mine Nancy Settle’s mother. Her name was Helen Colquitt, and she was my former landlord for a number of years. Every spring she would ask me to bring her some of my horse manure to her house, for her rose bushes. She was very particular about why she wanted horse manure, she said it was “because for some reason, it makes my roses bloom bigger and brighter, and last longer.” One day I showed up with it, and she was snipping the ends of her rose bushes off. I asked her why she was doing that? She responded with “I am pruning them, you have to prune them from time to time, if you want them to keep growing back new blooms. So by pruning the dead bulbs, you also promote growth of new bulbs.” Her daughter Nancy Settle took over after her mother passed, and she planted rose bushes at my duplex in honor of her mother’s love of roses. And just like her mother, Nancy would come over periodically and “prune” the rose bushes she had planted outside of my duplex. And just like her mother’s roses would, the roses on the side of my duplex bloom every year, and they are really a very pretty sight to see! Now the dictionary definition of Pruning is as follows: “Cutting away dead or overgrown branches or stems, especially to INCREASE the fruitfulness and growth.” And AMEN goes right here too!
So now that we know what “pruning” is, let me show you how it applies to today’s message. For just a brief moment in time, I want you to close your eyes for me, and think back over your life to some very painful time periods that things you valued very much were either taken or removed from your life? For some people, it might be material things as I listed above. And for other people, it might be actual people that were removed that you didn’t want to lose, that was equally painful. I would be willing to bet, that some of you when you did this exercise, you started to feel that pain you felt back then all over again didn’t you? Why, because you may not even to this day, realize why it happened? Well, that is why I am here today. I am here to possibly give you a little insight on what God was doing at that time in your life or “season of loss,” so that you can better understand your purpose in life. Not everyone in your life you believe you are connected to, are meant to be in your life longterm, or worse, permanently in God’s plan for you. And with that being said, it is then that God will do a little (or maybe a lot) of “subtracting,” before He does His multiplying. We have to understand, that the Blessings God has for us cannot be shared with just anyone. Some people in our lives right now, would such you dry of any Blessings God were to bestow on you if he didn’t subtract those people from your life beforehand. Yes I know, I know, you really like this person(s) and you have fun with them, but you don’t see them like God sees them! You don’t know their evil plans for you “IF” God were to Bless you right now beforehand. I know some of you can relate to this, as long as you are broke, in need, and not experiencing “a season of reaping a good harvest,” aka being BLESSED, your so-called friends and you are tight. But let God start to Bless you with some NEW things, a house, a new car, some extra money, a new wardrobe, a new job, or even some new friends, and you’ll see the reason God subtracts certain people and things from your life. As the old saying goes, “pay very close attention to who’s not clapping when you receive rewards, blessings, praise and recognition from others.” As I wrap this thought up, just like Mrs. Colquitt would prune her beautiful rose bushes, God will do a little (or maybe even a lot) of “pruning” in our lives right before He showers Blessings down on us. Can I leave you with a question to ponder about your life right now?
“Is God Doing Any Subtracting In Your Life Right Now?” If the answer is a resounding YES, then prepare yourself, God is about to Bless you, and your season to reap a good prosperous harvest has arrived. That is “IF” you are living for the Lord!
Can I Get An Amen????
