Morning Christian Words of Encouragement – “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here….

Thought For Today – “How Long Will You Remain “Stuck” In Mediocrity?”
Good Morning Saints! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? Happy Humpty Hump day to you! I hope you are having a good and productive work week so far? I apologize to all my faithful readers for being behind on writing my “Thoughts for today,” but I have been playing catch up since coming back from vacation last week. I do believe that I have a very good word for you this morning though. I was listening to Pastor Ron Carpenter message on “The Value of Integrity,” and one thought stood out to me that he made…..”So many people are stuck in mediocrity, and don’t know why?” It is with this train of thought or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about “How Long Will You Remain “Stuck” In Mediocrity?” And that subject my sisters and brothers will definitely PREACH right there! Now in Pastor Ron’s message, the spoke about the Biblical account of the relationship between Elijah and Elisha. If you know the story, you know that Elisha was what you could consider to be a hardworking man, who was a farmer. He had an oxen, a plow, and land to farm. However, Elisha was stuck in Mediocrity, It may not seem like that, but because God had so much more expectation wise, in His master plan for Elisha.
If you don’t know the story about Elijah and Elisha, you can go and read about it in 1 Kings 19 chapter would be a good starting place. In these Bible verses, you learn how just one brief encounter with Elijah turned Elisha’s life upside down in a good way. Elijah came upon Elisha, and after this brief encounter or meeting if you will, became a mentor to Elisha. Elijah placed his mantle (aka cape) upon Elisha and that small gesture was enough for Elisha to change his entire way of thinking and living. Prior to this brief encounter, Elisha was considered to be just an average hardworking person. However, today he is known as one of the greatest Prophets in the Holy Bible. Elijah also has that title of being one of the great Prophets in the Bible and in Israel’s history. Pause………….There is a lesson to be learned here from Elisha. The lesson to be learned here, is that God has instilled sometype of a great skill or talent inside of each of us from birth, but we are spending so much of our time “Stuck in Mediocrity,” because we have not found or met the right person or motivation that God has associated your life’s instruction in, who will influence you enough to snap you out of that mediocrity and pursue that which God has called you to do. Pastor Ron made another statement that stuck with me, “You aren’t fulfilling your Spiritual destiny because you are Faithful to a system that cannot benefit you in any way.” That is a very powerful statement! And to break it down a little further, “You have attended the same Church all your life, but complain about it not feeding your soul Spiritually! You are in a marriage or relationship that has no fire, excitement, or enjoyment to you, but you and your significant other both have concluded that is the best it will be. Instead of changing things up and making a commitment to make it a better situation for both of you! Now this next one is going to really open the eyes of some of you, because it deals with an area of your life with which you will be faced with a very serious decision…..You go to work to a job everyday for days, upon days, weeks upon weeks, and years upon years, that you absolutely hate and it stresses you out to the point that it is negatively impacting your health!” You know in your heart of hearts, that you have so much more to offer a company career wise, but you are not given the opportunity to show it.”
Now it is a very fulfilling thing to be able to wake up every morning and go to a job that you absolutely love doing, and mine is one of those jobs. I don’t know all the reasons why I love my job so much, but I do! Maybe it is the people I work with are very personable, and my bosses are very personable, but whatever the real reason is, I just enjoy working for the company I work for, and doing the job I am doing despite how challenging it is at times. It should be just as fulfilling to each person alive, to also love the Church they attend, the person they are romantically connected to, even the friends that they place their trust and faith in on a daily basis. And I’ll even go a step or two further, and say that it should be just as fulfilling for your children to look up to you in a very proud and positive way, so much so, that they are proud to tell their friends about you. However, there is NOTHING more rewarding to any Christian, than finally meeting that one person, or having that one experience that breaks you out of your Mediocrity to you destiny! Why? Because then and only then, will you unlock the Blessings that God has in store for you! Getting back to the Biblical story of Elijah and Elisha. After Elijah’s touch with his mantle on Elisha, that was all it took to convince Elisha to give up all that he had and follow Elijah. Elijah mentored Elisha for many years, and when Elijah was close to being at the end of his life, he asked Elisha if there was anything he could do for him. Elisha replied with “You can give me a DOUBLE PORTION of your Spirit!” Now think about that for a minute, it takes a lot of respect for a person for you to ask to have DOUBLE the portion of someone else’s Spirit? The Bible says, that when the chariot of fire pulled by horses of fire, came down to get Elijah to take him to Heaven in a whirlwind, Elisha’s request was granted and then some. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“How Long Will You Continue To Remain STUCK In Mediocrity?”
