I've got a horse that's 10 now. I started calf roping on her when she was 5. Didn't go to a lot the first couple years probably around 30 total. Other than a few rodeos she stood in the corner and scored really nice. Then I let a guy get on her at a rodeo and she spun out of the corner on him bad and she hasn't been the same since. At home she is perfect in the box but at the rodeo it's a mental thing and she won't find the corner until a few times spinning out. lately she's even started locking up. It could just be the way I'm riding her but I've always had pretty soft hands and can generally move them where I want with me feet but this girl is not having it anymore. About the only thing that works anymore is to lope her until she's dripping wet and then she's pretty good. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it. Thanks

Since nobody has answered you I guess I will chime in. Sounds like your going to have to take her to some other peoples arena's where they are roping and see what happens when you ride in the box. Specially if she doesn't do it at home, she might try you at a practice arena where you can correct her.

I agree with TheRoanBadger. Take her as many places as you can away from home to practice. Request slack when you enter...they will usually let you take a little more time with them then.
