The Third Eye Perspective:
Thought For Today – “It Takes A lot of “Heart”
As I was meditating this morning waiting for the Lord to place today’s subject title in my “heart” like it does happen every morning, I could almost feel each heartbeat of my heart as I became very relaxed and things seem to really slow down in my mind. The more I tried to listen to, or feel my heartbeats beat, the more the subject of “Heart” became more and more visible in my mind. Then in dawned on me that God wanted me to deal with that subject because someone needed to be reminded of how important “Hearts” are. It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking that it was placed on my “H-E-A-R-T” this morning to talk about, “It Takes A lot of H-E-A-R-T To Survive…” And AMEN goes right here! The “Heart”, that is a very complicated word isn’t it? But it doesn’t really have to be, we as humans make that word a lot more complicated than it would ever have to be. The heart is used in so many different aspects of our lives everyday, and each aspect is just as important as the next one. A Luther Vandross song comes to my mind being that I am a big fan of his music, “Anyone who had a heart”. Another song about “Heart” that immediately came to mind was the song from the movie “The Five Heartbeats” called “A Heart, is a house for Love”, and the rest of the verse that goes with it is “And it don’t take much to build it up”. Why is it that during the Motown early days era, that most if not all the artists were singing about “Love” and the Heart? Nowadays no so much so, the music of day has migrated to a cheaper and less meaningful theme of twerking, cheating, and lust…And people wonder why very few of the people in the world marry for love anymore, they marry for every reason except Love for the most part. I know, I know, there are still some people who do still marry for love, but they are few far and between. And AMEN goes right here!
There are different aspects of the word “Heart,” like how much effort or how determined you are to accomplish a goal you’ve set for yourself. You’ll hear people say for example, “wow, that Carlos has a lot of heart, he refused to give up despite so many tough obstacles he was facing and he succeeded because of how huge his heart and determination is! I remember my sports playing days, my former coaches would ask us “how much HEART do you have? Are you going to give up or are you going to keep working hard and pushing forward, or are you going to let a little adversity keep you from being a great Basketball, Football, or Track athlete?” I have even found myself trying to use some of those quotes to my AAU coached basketball teams in the past I coached. Sometimes during practice or games I’d ask them questions like “Show me and the other team how much “Heart” you have”, or “I want to know who’s going to show up and give me 110% everytime, and who’s going to show up with cheating me on their minds, and if you cheat me I’ll know it, I always do.” You could always see that the looks they get on their little faces that their minds were processing what I just said to them. They almost always go out after one of those speeches and “turned up” their effort level propelling us to victory. And it doesn’t really matter what the age of the person is, everyone will be faced with a situation where they will have to show how much “Heart” or effort, dedication, and fight they are willing to put into something that they value in their lives, (Their Religion, their dreams, their marriages, their dating relationships, their careers, their friendships, and even their hobbies). Sometimes depending on how busy your life is, you have to prioritize your most valuable aspects of life in order to be able to pay an equal amount of attention to them as to not neglect the important facets. It is a proven fact that if you neglect an important facet of your life there is a very high probability that it will come back to haunt you in some bad way. It can be very challenging at times but the fact that it is challenging does not exempt you from even putting forth the effort. Look at how hard some athletes work to get back to competition form after suffering a serious injury? That initial setback they might experience as soon as the injury happens can take a huge toll on their sporting event competed in placement. Meaning they might be thrown back way behind all the other players on their team, in their league, or just in general. That should provide all the motivation needed to work as hard as necessary, and to push your body to its limits (Heart) to catch back up or regain that previous status.
Some people will decide that “it’s not worth all the effort to put their total effort or “HEART” required into accomplishing their goals. They want everything to be “easy,” or handed to them. If they have to work for it, then they would just as soon spend the rest of their lives trying to find some non-existent shortcut to get there, that cuts out all that hard work, sweat, blood and even some tears that other people are willing to sacrifice. The people who have the biggest, strongest, and most dedicated “HEART” mentalities, never accept failure, it’s just not in their vocabulary! Now let this marinate on your brain for just a little bit, what if Jesus Christ was the person I’m describing in this paragraph? What if HE was one of those people who were NOT willing to sacrifice so much of Himself to accomplish His and His Father’s goals of Salvation, aka “Everlasting and Eternal Life in Heaven?” Where would this world be today if God had decided to simply “give up on us in the beginning??” I guess what people don’t realize, is He could have very easily done that when He wiped all of humanity off the face of the earth except for a select few (Noah and his family) righteous people who wanted to do right and live by God’s Commandments. God instilled an undying, focused, non-relenting, “HEART” in Jesus Christ in the beginning because He knew what Jesus would have to endure at some point in His life. It would have been total disaster if like I said, Jesus didn’t have that tenacity that it took to accomplish what He accomplished. It just goes to show that God knew, and still knows what He was, and more importantly IS STILL DOING in reference to us Christian folks. God hasn’t changed his “HEART” mentality towards us, MAN is who has changed, time and time again. Why? Why is it so hard for “man” to realize that God’s way is that only way to be successful in Life and especially in the After Life??? What good does it do you to live a life of ease, pure pleasure, self-loathing, selfish, egotistical, and arrogant because you’re doing exactly what YOU want to do, and doing it YOUR WAY as opposed to God’s? Only to end up spending your eternity in the fiery pits of Hell as opposed to the beautiful Peace of Heaven? The old saying “anything worth having in life, is worth waiting patiently for and working hard for, if it comes “too easy” you won’t appreciate it as much at the end of the day.” Can I ask you a question to ponder before I end this “Thought For Today”???
“How much “HEART” (Focus, Effort, Dedication, Tenacity, Non-Relenting Attitude) are you willing to put into the things in life you have set your sights on or deem to be priorities?” Can I get an AMEN?
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ 110%! Afterall, isn’t that EXACTLY what HE Did for US on the Cross?”
