The Third Eye Perspective:

Thought For Today – “You Saw The Best in Me…”
By a show of virtual hands, do you ever feel like at times that you’re a total screw up in everything you do? Come on now, don’t be shy, I know I’m not the only one who feels like this? Let me rephrase it, I know I’m not the only one honest enough to admit that I feel like this at times? Yeah, that’s what I thought, I see those hands flying up left and right now! Wow, the whole entire virtual audience with the exception of a few put their hands up reluctantly. And those few that didn’t, need to stay behind after service this morning and ask for forgiveness for lying LOL!!! My bad, but that was kinda funny and you know it! J Okay, maybe you are constantly being told by your significant other, your parents, or your children, maybe even your friends, and God forbid your haters and or people who you don’t even associate with, that you are a screw up, and maybe, just maybe those are not the words being used to tell you that, they are much worse? How does that make you feel, worthless, discouraged, mad, spiteful, or just plain hurt down to your core? As I have said so many times in my devotionals, the subject titles come from a wide variety of places, a song, a tv show, a phrase mentioned by someone casually, a random thought that after thinking about it, wasn’t all that “random” at all, it was divine intervention. Nomatter what the source of my subject titles for my “Thought For Today’s,” they are always very uniquely relevant. Today’s subject came from a song recorded by Gospel Singer/Pastor Marvin Sapp. His song entitled “You Saw The Best In Me…” is one of my all-time favorite Gospel songs. It basically reminds us that nomatter what anyone else in the world thinks of us, in GOD’S mind, He only cares to see the VERY BEST in us! So with that being said, it is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “You Saw The Best In Me…” And AMEN goes right here! This one right here will PREACH all by itself as Pastor Ron Carpenter would say!
If you would, turn in your Bibles with me to Genesis 1: 26-28 verse. In these verses in the Bible you will read as follows :26 – And God said, let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth. 27 : So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. 28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the Earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Now when I read those three verses, and I allow them to marinate in my mind and in my heart, what “I” get from that in relation to today’s Devotional, is this…….If God made us in HIS image and likeness like the Bible says (not man, not Satan, but the BIBLE), that means He thinks pretty highly of us. And if GOD be for us, tell me who could be against us? The answer is NOBODY, because God won’t allow their ploys to work against us! And AMEN goes right here too! With Him being a perfect God, imagine the perception of what we must look like in His eyes? Yes I know that we are not perfect, and don’t even have the capability of being “perfect” after the fall in the Garden of Eden. But When we are born again in Christ Jesus, all of our imperfections (sins wise) are washed away and we are like a NEW creature! God’s Grace allows us to have do over, after do over, after do over, if we repent and ask for Forgiveness. That also tells me, that God looks past our imperfections and straight to the good (aka the Best) in us. As humans we are flawed, we lie, cheat, steal, kill, experience hatred, jealousy, and spite towards our fellow man, we fall out of Fellowship with God and especially each other. As a race, the human race are guilty of some of the most heinous things in our existence, and despite all of that being on our record of account, God will still look past it all to see the good in us. God created the human race for the following purposes, to “worship Him – Why? Because it is the only thing He cannot give Himself. In order to worship something, it has to be bigger, better, more powerful, etc.. that you. There is NOTHING bigger, better, or more powerful than God. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega (aka the beginning and the end), the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and every living creature on it, He is also the Ruler over both Heaven and Earth and every living creature, yes including Satan! And AMEN goes right here also!
The next reason God created the human race, was because He wanted us to be “managers” over His Earthly creation. Before the fall in the Garden of Eden, all Adam had to do was just “speak” something and it would be so. He was also given the power to name every plant, animal, etc… whatever he called it, that is what it would be. God entrusted that ability in Adam and told him to “have dominion over everything and to be fruitful and multiply.” Now think about this as I try to tie this whole concept into the subject title, God gave us everything we would ever need to make Earth operate exactly like Heaven which was His intention in the first place. However, God never intended to live on Earth, He did however need managers of it. That is where WE come in. We all know from reading our Bibles that Heaven is perfect in every way. Well, God wanted Earth to be perfect in every way as well. However, being that God knows all, and sees all, He knew Adam and Eve would fall in the Garden of Eden. Now watch this, instead of destroying them after they ate of the forbidden fruit, God gave Adam and Eve a do over so to speak. Only this time, it came with some different rules. Nolonger would they be able to speak things into existence, they lost that ability when the disobeyed God. I heard a sermon by Pastor Ron Carpenter whom you have heard me mention many times. He had an interesting take on this whole “Manager over Earth” mentality. He said that God had Earth set up with every seed for every fruit, vegetable, tree, bush, flower, etc…planted BEFORE He even created Adam and Eve. However, He didn’t allow it to rain on those seeds due to not having anyone to manage them. After the downfall, Adam and Eve were cursed to have to labor for food, and that weeds would appear that would burden his life further. Although he was judged for his actions, God maintained the blessing that was given to him. He was still allowed to produce food from the ground that would feed and sustain he and Eve. In my “Third Eye Perspective” way of seeing things, even in Adam and Eve’s disobedience, God was still trying to see the very BEST in them. He still had Faith that they could be productive managers over Earth, and that they could still accomplish all of His goals while they were living on it. The moral to this Devotional today, nomatter who we encounter that only likes pointing out the worst things about us, God only sees the BEST. He wants us to mirror HIS image remember and that image is an image of perfection. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today?
“Which are you more concerned with, how your fellow man/woman views you, or how God sees you? Can I get an AMEN???
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that EXACTLY what HE did for US on the Cross?”
